Superior Level of Service
Blake Tiedeman, Director of Real Estate Operations, Minneapolis Grain Exchange
I wanted to take a moment and share with you the superior level of service BL Dalsin has provided the Minneapolis Grain Exchange over the years. We have presented the BL Dalsin team with a number of extremely challenging and taxing requests over the last few years during our recent building improvement push and historic preservation tax pursuit, including a complete tear off and reroofing of our Main and East Buildings, and I want you to know that the BL Dalsin team rose, time and time again, to meet all of the challenges thrown at them.
The Grain Exchange is not an easy place to work at thanks to in no small part aged equipment, decades of deferred maintenance, an ever growing number of tenants with vastly varying expectations and an extremely “bottom line” conscious ownership group. The reroofing of our Main and East Buildings, each over IO stories in height, in the heart of the Downtown East district of the Minneapolis Central Business District, involved complex logistics including the use of a large crane daily and implementing proactive measures to limit any potentially adverse impact on the occupants of a nearly 80 percent occupied commercial office building.
Even with these challenges, the BL Dalsin team consistently put their best foot forward, came together as a team and got the job done no matter what we or the City of Minneapolis threw at them. Plainly put, the BL Dalsin team understands the challenges and opportunities that exist with working on historic buildings. They are not just a contractor, they are a collaborative partner who recognizes that each project is unique, just as each property ownership group is, and that is exactly what we needed. Please see this link for additional info about this historic designation:

We are especially fortunate to have the opportunity to work with the likes of Don House Jr, Jeremy Gross, Jon Jensen, Todd Ribbe and many others on the BL Dalsin team. I wanted you to know how much we appreciated their efforts, expertise and professionalism and look forward to working with them and the entire BL Dalsin team in the coming years and, should you select them to work with you on your project, I am confident you will not be disappointed.
If you ever have any questions or concerns about anything the BL Dalsin team worked on at the Grain Exchange or if you would like to review their work, please do not hesitate to contact me directly and I will be glad to help in any way I can. Thank you for the opportunity to share my thoughts with you.
Blake Tiedeman,
Director of Real Estate Operations, Minneapolis Grain Exchange
